On 30th March, the African Union Commission’s Department of Human Resources, Sciences and Technology convened to assess the implementation of The Decade Plan of Action (DPoA) and to map out its course for the rest of the decade.
The DPoA was created to ensure the successful performance of the African Youth Charter. The plan is a reaction to the need for strengthened national capacities to deliver more effectively on empowerment and development amongst young people in Africa.
Doctor Martial De-Paul Ikounga (pictured), Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology, Doctor Beatrice Njenga, Acting Head of the Youth Division and Victor Mensah, Consultant with the Centre for Youth Development Services, were in attendance at the meeting.
