At a recent gathering in Washington DC, the Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission: H.E. Mister Erastus Mwencha and United States Senator Christopher “Chris’ Coons” held a meeting where they discussed Africa’s priorities according to Agenda 2063 and reaffirmed areas of collaboration between the US and African Governments.
The subjects they discussed included the US Government’s support for Africa’s health sector, the trade relationship between the two countries, financial and resource support from America to help respond to natural disasters, and the sustainability of peace keeping missions in Africa.
