Earlier this week on Monday 2nd May, a signing ceremony took place at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa. The African Union Commission signed the Host Agreement for the 27th African Union Summit which is to be held from 10th -18th July 2016 in Rwanda.
Present at the signing were Ms. Djeneba Diarra, the Secretary General of the African Union Commission, and H.E Mrs. Hope Tumukunde Gasatura, the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union.
Ambassador Gasatura reemphasized Rwanda’s dedication to making sure that this year’s AU Summit is a success. Meanwhile on behalf of the Chairperson of the AU Commission, Secretary General Djeneba Diarra thanked the Ambassador for the good cooperation between the Commission and the Rwandan Government in the lead-up to the Summit.
